I think photos at night can be pretty fantastic, especially with a city behind you. Just have to find the right light (or bring an assistant with your own). That’s the Queensboro bridge behind me, which I haven’t really shown like this before. It’s probably even better at sunset.

Union Square Park Before Dark
I finally, finally remembered to do an EBEW. Well, what really happened is that Nnenna and I had a photo session and I happened to be wearing neon pink. Oh well. I’ll take it. …
Brooklyn in the Morning
Isn’t DUMBO great in the morning? It’s very quiet and barely feels like New York. I love taking photos in the park when it’s early. Except for the occasional jogger or dog walker, hardly anyone is around. It’s easier to get photos when people aren’t wandering into your frame. …
In the Mist
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for spring weather. I actually love winter (snow!) but this rainy in-between freezing and temperate just has me in a fog. Hoping for better weather next week, and maybe an actual spring? Last year I remember wearing raincoats for at least two months straight… and then it exploded into ninety degree weather in the last days of May. It seems like there are hardly any seasons any more, just extreme weather. …

The 97¢ Cobalt Shirt
It’s taken me a very long time, but I finally got something cobalt! I picked this shirt up at an amazing Old Navy sale for 97¢ (and I couldn’t resist one in pink, too). Now that I have it, I’m wishing for a breezy maxi dress in this color. I think it would transition beautifully through the seasons. I just have to find one! …
The Posh Party
Yesterday Nnenna and I attended the Spring Trends Posh Party hosted by Poshmark at the Ace Hotel. Despite passing by the hotel several times/week for months, I had never actually been inside. I caught up with some friends from the Bloggers’ Collective and met a few new faces– including Hope, who blogs at A Flattering Tale and is a member of the Correspondence Club. …
On a Tree at Sunset

Oh hai. The blog is back, no ill effects from the digital flu (i.e. I think Bluehost let their drives fail). So many people were knocked out, and you’d think Bluehost would send courtesy emails so as not to cause a huge panic. They did respond to my “Bluehost broke my blog” tweet fairly quickly, which at least is something.
I wish I could climb this tree, but I’m a terrible tree climber and I think the spindly branches are too skinny to hold weight anyway. I probably couldn’t get up on one without a ladder because the closest ones to the ground are still feet above my head. I already tried. In heels. Of course. …
North of Thirty Fourth
Stylistically a little bit different than my usual appearance, right? That’s because I had a photographer and two other people yelling direction at me. I seldom find myself this far uptown as well. Different feel to the neighborhood….
Actually Under the Manhattan Bridge
Man Repelling like a champion, I know (at least that’s what my friend said one of the last times I wore this skirt). Obviously I still wear it anyway. It’s a crazy skirt, I know, but bloggers are totally obligated to wear crazy things, right? And I don’t really care if people stare at it… it’s a great statement piece. …
