Last of Summer: Pink Dress

I tend to wear this dress frequently throughout the summer but I’ve never posted a photo — it tends to photograph very poorly, either overexposed or much too dark.  As you can see in the photos there is a huge discrepancy in color and the dress does not look like either of the photos anyway…  

This is the lightest piece of clothing I own and it’s reserved pretty much exclusively for days in excess of 95 degrees.  Which we’ve been having since Sunday.  Promise I haven’t been living in this dress all week (eeeew).  Are you tired of this belt yet?  This weekend I’m planning to look for a few new ones for fall!

I haven’t worn this shirt in a long time.  Actually, it’s more of a tunic and the bottom is very floaty but it’s under the skirt kind of acting like a slip!  

Short blogs this week.  I just don’t have much to say.  Maybe it’s the 95+ heat all week… it’s slowly melting my brain!

Music Festival Two

To the music festival again, and it rained all day so everything was a huge mudslide!  I don’t know what the people wearing flip flops did and now I understand why Hunter boots show up at Coachella and such all the time.  It was so humid that I actually felt overheated in this outfit but I don’t know what else I could have done.  I think it was just one of those days and it was going to feel sticky and airless no matter what!

Old Friends

Remember this?  I decided to resurrect it :)  I haven’t been feeling very creative lately, maybe because I’ve already started looking ahead to Fall 2010 but can’t seem to find any clothing I actually want to buy.  Hugely depressing.  I’m going to Canada in a month though so maybe I’ll find some inspiration there!  Bad thing though is that it will already really be fall by that time in the north.  Guess I’ll be wearing a lot of sweaters?  I don’t know if I can bring myself to dig out winter clothing so soon!

Mixed Color Florals

I haven’t photographed this dress in a long time, although I’ve worn it since I first got it in… April?  It’s very light and airy but unfortunately it always sticks to my legs!  And I don’t have a slip short enough to go under it without peeking out.  

Friday I saw Counting Crows (I didn’t wear this, I basically wore this but with shorts) and sadly they were really disappointing.  Augustana (the opening act) was much better but the concert as a whole was just weird.  I’m glad I got to see Augustana though, they’re much more compelling live!

Don’t I look like I can’t hear what you’re saying?  I have to say, I’m a bit on the fence about this dress.  I don’t like the pleats in the front, and the fabric is le crappy.  I was sort of feeling Gossip Girl when I got it… yeah.  Not really sure if it works.  It’s probably best with the cardigan?

So… where’s everyone been lately?  It’s lonely on the dashboard…

As I’m often known to do, I picked up this skirt on a whim while at Target.  While I was supposed to be buying things like shampoo and inserts for my poor little feet, of course.  I have no idea what I did on Wednesday.  Other than encourage a young mother that she, too, could wear this skirt, and that I got it at Target.  

Has anyone ever been to Toronto?  I’m going to the film festival in September but I’ll be there all week and definitely won’t be at the film festival the whole time, so I’m on the search for things to do!

Pattern Mixing, or Polka Dots Again

My shirt actually has a small polka dot pattern but I forgot to get a closer photo of it, just like I’ve forgotten to get a close-up the past four or five times I’ve worn it!  I’m really not good at those detail shots.  

If you haven’t already heard, Banana Republic is having a really excellent sale, 30% off!  It used to be one of my favorite stores but since they redid their sizing (I don’t care if corporate never said anything, not a single thing fits me any more) I haven’t been able to buy anything there and I don’t even go to the store any more.  My favorite suit is from Banana Republic but it looks like I won’t be able to get any more there :(  I think everything is cut for a curvier figure now, so if that’s you run over to the store/website!
