New Year in the Sparkling Archway

Dear Christine,

Another day, another year… they really do seem to fly away faster with each passing year. I spent the day wandering the old neighborhood with my roommate, dreaming of apartments on the border of the West Village and Chelsea, and walked by my house. I tried to go to Magnolia for a New Year’s cupcake but the line was out the door and around the block. I didn’t want one quite that much.

Blood orange margarita at The Smith from the night previous.

Hello bagel! Sorry Murray’s, but Ess-a-Bagel is always going to be my #1. Even if you do have matzo ball soup.

I hope all your dreams come true in 2013. How did you celebrate?

Alex

That top picture is almost offensively sparkly and magical. Except it’s really actually sweet and lovely! (Why do I always pretend to be offended when I come to your blog? Because you’re TOO GREAT, that’s why. No, but you’re actually the correct amount of greatness for yourself.)

WOW That’s an amazing picture of you under the sparkly archway!! Only in NYC. I LOVE that you’ve included cupcakes and drinks in this post :) Even though you didn’t get a cupcake, it’s still the thought that counts haha!! I went out with my sister and our cousins with our significant others to the casino for New Years Eve..let’s just say that now that I checked that off the bucket list I will be moving on..hehe.

I’ve never done that, but I heard the concerts on NYE at casinos can be fun. Maybe in Vegas one year?

I honestly don’t know what to do to celebrate any more… it’s so expensive in New York! Though next year I am just thinking about getting a table somewhere.
