Looking for something breezy and beautiful to take take with you on this summer’s beach vacation? Emerging designer Elif Katik is the creator of both Elif and Elif for Jordan Taylor, two totally island destination-ready spring collections. It’s no surprise that my two favorite looks are the peacock feather dress and the swingy maxi dress above.

Mad. Sq. Eats | Eat, Drink and Be Merry

diners under marimekko umbrellas at mad sq eats

Mad. Sq. Eats is a fun — if crowded — place to spend an hour or two for dinner or happy hour. I have to confess a preference for Asiadog, which always has one of the longest lines. However, if you’re looking for dessert, grab a few cookies from momofuku milk bar and split some crepes and a bottle of wine from Bar Suzette. The mini food festival takes place ever spring and fall and is open from 11am – 9pm until May 31st. …

Patterned Maxi Dress for a Wedding Weekend | Outfits

IMG_2965
Dear Laura,I love attending weddings, especially when I know the bride and groom well. You might remember this dress from the last wedding I attended in Mexico. I’m wearing a few different accessories. It was definitely cool enough for the jacket, but I spent nearly the entire evening without it as I deemed it not quite formal enough to wear until the afterparty.

Dear Christine,

If you didn’t already know, A Beautiful Mess recently released an iPhone app.

I’m possibly, maybe alittlebitobsessed. I haven’t had this much fun with an app since Instagram launched. The features remind me of those awesome instant photobooths in Japan with tons of stamps and features. Wish they would bring those stateside!

Grey Stripes, Trench Coat + Pearls

Dear Shen Dove,

I have been waiting forever to wear this outfit. I picked up this dress from Anthropologie when it was still freezing out, but this outfit is the end goal that I had in mind. As soon as I saw the dress I knew it would be perfect with a trench coat and bare legs for spring. Have you ever imagined an outfit and for one reason or another had to wait ages before wearing it?…

First Blush | Decor

Some things that have been occupying the space around here lately:

Benefit Benetint, my favorite lip stain. It’s more subtle than my usual MAC Russian Red and I wear it almost every day. This bottle is c/o Benefit from a fashion week party last fall.

A Greenleaf candle in the scent First Blush. I think it’s Yuna Yang’s signature scent because I picked this candle up during the F/W 2013 show, but I remember the scent from S/S 2013 as well.

The Selby is in Your Place is a great book for some interior decorating inspiration. I’ve had my copy for several years but always flip through it every few months for some new ideas.
