File under: Things I Never Knew About New York. Apparently the church courtyard Nnenna and I are fond of using to take photos is the second-oldest in Manhattan. I didn’t even know it was still used for religious services as the inside’s been totally gutted, leaving it minimalistic, echoing, and white. And the last time we were there it was being used for a concert.

It’s got a huge bell, so now I’m wondering if that works… I’m tempted to ring it!

Yay! We finally got a photo together, even if it’s dark and shadowy.

I’m wearing my Simply Vera Vera Wang jacket, Talbots scarf, Francesca’s Collections cardigan, Forever 21 dress, and MIA boots. I basically haven’t stopped carrying my new Target bag since I got it, either.

As you can see, I did some experimenting with flash photography. I may have used the word ghastly during this photoshoot (I did accidentally turn Nnenna blue in two photos). Still really don’t like it, but it’s good to practice. Maybe one day I’ll find that perfect formula.

i totally get why you’ve been carrying that bag everywhere…it meshes so well with your style! seriously, it is the perfect addition to your wardrobe!
I love the st. mark’s church..
That striped dress is so cute! Is it new?
No it’s old actually… well it’s from last August or September. I just don’t wear it that often. It sticks to tights really badly even with a slip.
Aww so glad you two got together and did a shoot! Love both outfits and can I tell you how FAB is that bag you scored at Target? And yup..I have thick naturally wavy hair!
Hahaha, “Ghastly!” You’re too funny :D Also, about the church- I had no idea either! I love when I stumble across little pockets of history like that in the city :)
I can never get ‘true colors’ with the flash on, but I love the effects that it can make. Those last couple color photos look surprisingly nice. You can still see some of the background detail and Nnenna is pretty well lit.
The flash just drives me nuts sometimes, although I would like to work on using it stylistically. Sort of like Fashion Toast or Terry Richardson, but without the nudity hahahhaa.
loving the stripe skirt
i really need one hanging in my closet

A bright one with wide stripes is on my list for spring! Unfortunately all the ones I’ve seen are so expensive.
I really like these shots even if you aren’t a fan! They give the looks a very cool feel.
Thanks! Black and white is great for night photos… cleans them up a bit I think!
GREAT shots…love the lighting and both you ladies look BEAUTIFUL!!!!
