Dear Dotty,
Whenever I’m not in New York I like to pretend that I live in the forest, but as you can see by the paved road that’s definitely not true. Even if the trees are very tall and forest-like.
I haven’t worn this skirt in a long long while because it doesn’t wear well with tights and it wrinkles terribly in the front. Tried to casual it up by wearing the plain shirt, but I couldn’t resist the lure of the pink belt or nude pumps. I’m enjoying bare legs as much as I can even if the temperatures have definitely been too cool for them lately. There’ve been a lot of shivery mornings.
This is the official debut of my new bag! It’s a clearance find from Nordstrom Rack, where I stalked it for two weeks before finally just thinking to hell with it. I needed a real bag anyway after the demise of my Target tote. I love the dark silver color, but it’s very heavy. Apparently all B Makowsky bags are. Yeah yeah, I know, what am I doing with a B Makowsky, I’m such a brand loyalist when it comes to higher priced items. But I really like the shape and functionality of this bag. Earlier this spring I bought and returned a silver Coach satchel, and considered probably hundreds of other bags. Balenciaga is still on my list… in the far future.
I’m wearing my Old Navy shirt, Zara belt, Merona/Target skirt, Sofft pumps,

I feel like my comment is going to look so much like Nnenna’s! I love your skirt. I love your bag. I love the mix of colors. I love the mix of textures and prints.
I changed my mind. This might be my favorite outfit of the year.

I’m going to try to outdo myself with both outfits later in the year (or who knows, maybe even sometime this spring). My new goal is to come up with a new outfit so good it’ll be your new favorite!

I LOVE your zebra skirt. Adding this belt was such a perfect addition.
Amazing shots!

So many things to say about this post!
1. Hello gorgeous background- those flowers are soo pretty!
2. Zebra + hot pink belt= amazing combination!
3. I thought your purse was new when I saw it yesterday! Love the silver color :)
4. I’m also refusing to wear tights, but you’re right, it’s a little too chilly not to do so, so that’s meant cold legs for me!
Alex Elizabeth says
The flowers are already gone :( I love this belt but always forget about it. I have to wear it more this spring and summer!
Mia says
Aw man, you are hardcore for going barelegged when it’s still chilly. I had a no-tights day last weekend, but the temperatures dropped again and I keep reminding myself that we’ll have plenty of alarmingly warm weather come summer. (P.S. I love this skirt, but I bet you could have guessed that.)
Alex Elizabeth says
Ahh it’s not so bad. I basically follow the Eva Chen school of dressing– if it’s going to be 60 degrees I’m not wearing tights. Although I have been wearing pants lately because I’m trying not to wear tights again!

Alex, can I saw GAWGEOUS? I love this look! That belt is just super pretty against that amazing skirt. And the backdrop for your photos is lovely!
Alex Elizabeth says
Thanks! I love this skirt and I love the tall trees in my yard, too :)

Love these shots, that zebra skirt is just to cute. Love the flowers as well but I know you didn’t really control them.
Alex Elizabeth says
Yes, this tree is so pretty! All the flowers are already gone though :( Guess I’ll have to wait for the late spring blooms now.

I’ve probably said this on so many blogs today – everyone’s doing the bare legs…I’m so not ready yet. The skirt is awesome, and so is the bag!

I went bare legged once in January! I do love tights, but I am more than ready. It’s set to be 80 in the next week, so there is no way I’m going out in tights then!

Oh I know, I’m so pale! Run a little bit of bronzer right down the front of your legs. Makes a huge difference.

love love love the skirt.
i hate having the trade off a well made heavy bag for a cheap light one. as if i didn’t carry enough junk around as it is, i need an extra 3 bag pounds weighing me down.
Alex Elizabeth says
I know, synth bags are light! But not all leather bags are very heavy. The new Coach ones aren’t, and Hobo International aren’t too bad either.

That bag is absolutely gorgeous! I love the print of this skirt with that pink belt. Great look!

OK that skirt is from target? I am going to have to check it out because it looks like something I saw from Alberta Feretti some time ago. Love the new bag and Alex…have you lost weight? You look fantastic!
Alex Elizabeth says
Unfortunately it isn’t a recent Target purchase. Thanks, Bessie! I may have lost weight, but I’m not sure. It would be really good if I did– I’m disastrously unhealthy.

What a lovely bag! And I’m loving the pink belt, too. Oh, to have a Balenciaga bag… Though, if I had my druthers, I’d probably go with an Alexa bag. ::drool::

Ahhh I know! An Alexa would be amazing, too!
