Dear Silvergirl,

The wind has been blowing here in New York this summer… and unfortunately it’s mostly been a hot wind! My hair is absolutely crazy. I’ve even taken to pinning it up on hot days, which you know almost never happens. I never used to go out with my hair up.

This peach eyelet peplum dress is from Forever 21 (last spring?) and one of my very favorite warm weather pieces. I love the color, which I think makes the eyelet a little less sweet. This particular piece is very well made. Even the fabric is decent quality.

Unfortunately I can’t say the same for my sandals. I got them at Nordstrom Rack and only wore them about 8-10 times before the straps began to separate from the soles. Not exactly what I’m looking for when New York is such a walking city.

Oh well. Back to the drawing board for a good shoe. So far my top recommendations are Seychelles, Lanvin and Stuart Weitzman.

Only problem is the price. Sad face.

    ok. so what’s up with the shoe fails these days?! i pulled out a pair of faux snakeskin wedges today and wore them to a meeting. got home and the strap gave out on me. they are quite old, but i rarely ever wear them.

    never in a million years would i have guessed your dress came from F21. i really like the color…looks great on you!
