Dear Jesse,
I like to do an occasional bit of forest bathing, even if I do tend to photograph the tallest building in New York on a regular basis.
It can be good to have balance.
It’s no secret that I love beauty products and experimenting with makeup, even if I do favor neutral colors and a natural look. Seventh Generation is best known for green cleaning products, but their skincare is every bit as good as their soaps.
Slightly tingly and with a faint peppermint scent, the serum is oil-based and packed with natural ingredients. I used oil cleansers on my skin when I lived in Japan (a common beauty treatment there) but have never tried an oil serum before. I like to use natural and organic products whenever possible, and this one’s been great to my skin.

Alex
I received a free sample of this product from Lucky and Seventh Generation for use in connection with this blog.
i’m starting to lean more toward a more natural skin care regimen. i’ve never heard of Seventh Generation. thank you for the introduction. quick question: does simply walking among trees, like in a park, count as forest bathing?!
I can’t see why not, a park definitely has to count! I think it’s just that in most part of Japan there really aren’t any parks with trees like we have here in the US, so people really have to get out into the mountains or go to the shrines for forest bathing.
I’ve gotta check out Seventh Generation, thanks for the info!
I didn’t know Seventh Generation had skincare products! That’s awesome! I love their cleaning stuffs and soaps, so I’m definitely gonna be looking for these!
Me too, I love their hand soaps! I’m extremely fussy about my skincare products (I use a vegan face wash from the UK, haha) and this is a genuinely good one.
Hi Alexandra,
Are these natural products available on Amazon?? I would like to gift them to my wife, she loves all the natural products. Give a link if possible.
Thanks
As of right now, Seventh Generation Boosts aren’t on Amazone– they’re exclusively at Walgreens.
Hi,
Thanks for letting me know anyway. I will check if shipping is available in our area.
Alex, You love love;y and natural in your printed dress and the wooded setting adds to that. I love the way you described the SG serum. Great post!

Thanks, Elle! My favorite backgrounds for taking photos are with tall trees or tall buildings!
I picked up a few vintage dresses for the last days of my pregnancy, which I love so much, that I am going to keep patrolling some local spots. I am usually not ‘good’ with vintage but I want to give it another try! This dress, is fabulous, and I’ll be keeping my eye out for something similar…
I love the design of vintage things, but I find that for the most part the cuts just do not flatter me– I don’t have enough curve! I seem to do best with loose dresses like this one.
Good luck on your vintage hunt!
I loved the location and loved the dress you are wearing too. Moreover I loved the seventh Generation products.
You do always switch between super urban and middle of the woods. I like them both, but I must admit, it’s much easier to pose on pavement than grass.
Very very true, although on the pavement you have to doge the people…
I took these with my 5D, timer and no remote (no infrared because this model’s too old). They came out decent, though I did have to get creative with the trees.
Oh my, this dress is just adorable! The print is too pretty and I also love your location!
Lovely as always.
Have a great day,
-Kati
P.S.: Thanks for your lovely words on my last post!
Love the dress that you’re wearing! I have a pencil skirt from that same thrift store that I love love love.
hehe i’ve never heard of that term before! so pretty, as usual!
The term forest bathing is from Japan, too! Basically it’s a type of restorative practice for city people in Japan. Sort of like a day at the spa. Kind of.
Just love Seventh Generation products! When you look good you feel good.
what a beautiful dress and i love the term “forest bathing”. :)
