Beauty & Essex is a great place to eat (I’ve never had anything I didn’t like), try some interesting cocktails, and have a little fun. It has one of those totally unassuming fronts that are common with some of the popular spots in New York. In fact, the front room is a pawn shop filled with a lot of cool vintage finds. You can purchase anything in there that’s for sale.

I’ve always wondered if people wander in there with no idea that there’s a restaurant/club in the back.

Mostly Monochrome Purple at the MoMA | Outfits

Dear Mia,

Apparently I’m having a purple moment, too. I hear it’s currently going around, at least among bloggers. I expect to see a lot of purple this fall (hello Zang Toi F/W 2013), but still think that blue will be the season’s it color.

This photo was taken in front of the Andy Warhol Cow Wallpaper at the MoMA Education and Research Building. I really haven’t been to the MoMA in a long time and forgot how much I like the modern minimalism. It’s very soothing to the eye.
