Actually these might have been taken at sunset as it’s difficult to tell when the sun sets in Manhattan. On the west side it’s easier, but past 5th Avenue the tall buildings cast long shadows and it can seem dark at 4pm.
You’ve seen this before of course, during fashion week. I made a few changes, adding ankle boots and I carried a clutch instead of my giant bag. There’s no clutch in these photos although there is a photo of it somewhere in my instagram feed.
Have you noticed that I’m basically in the same exact pose in every single photos? Oops. This skirt has pockets but it looks really weird with my hands in them. Lydia told me that instead of putting her whole hand in the pocket she sometimes just uses a thumb. Genius!
J.Crew blouse, Gap skirt (vintage? from Tokyo Joe in the East Village), MIA boots (DSW.com), ken + dana ring, random bangles.

Haha, I’ve been trying to do different poses lately, too! I just get so stuck in my rut. A thumb in the pocket is such a good idea!

Haha, when I’m taking pictures in a skirt with pockets, it seems like I can’t drag my hands out of them for love or money. The thumb looks pretty hip, I must say.

I seriously do want to put pockets in every single thing I own. I even walk with my hands in my pockets.

If your Ann Taylor is from this season then I remember seeing it! I had it in my hands in the store but decided I probably didn’t need two very similar leopard blouses… I love this one a lot though, so maybe I do!

So cute! I love that skirt! The bracelet is really cute, too! Basically, I’ll just go ahead and take the whole outfit. =P

Thanks! This is basically my favorite skirt now. I wear it all the time and I find myself constantly picking up really similar skirts every time I’m shopping.

it’s definitely a good combo. worth repeating.
maybe its time to figure out how to use a flash*…. something i’ve been avoiding for sure. it’s probably not as hard as i’m convinced it is. right?
the booties are really cute. i so need a pair like that.
*I mean use a flash in a way that actually looks good and not like a point and shoot.
Alex Elizabeth says
Yeah I know these are sooo dark. I have a hard time with flash though, it flattens my already too flat features. The real problem is blowing your subject out and then getting a really bizarre looking dark background. Which probably looks worse. I’ve been trying to get more out of my camera in low lighting situations lately, though I did use the flash on my friends yesterday. Haven’t loaded the photos yet, but I do suspect they look like a point-and-shoot’s. Sigh.
