With Inspiration

10 August 2011

Lately I’ve been inspired by Chic on the Cheap, and I’m sure you saw What I Wore earlier this week (I like referring to bloggers by their blog names, don’t ask me why). Lydia always wears her shirts tied or knotted in the front so I decided to do it too. I’ve never worn this shirt tied before and it actually looks better this way that any other way I’ve worn it.

I hardly ever wear these shoes either and I don’t know why. They’re actually pretty comfortable and feel like slippers so I should definitely add them into the rotation. I’m sure they’d be good for walking around New York. I just can’t wear them in the rain like on Tuesday.

Banana Republic shirt, J.Crew skirt, Minnetonka moccasins.

That’s so cool! Love the color mix here, and the cool simplicity of the look. I’m glad that moccasins seem to be falling out of hipster trend.

I swear that moccasins used to be preppy, then they fell out of it for a while. My freshman year roommate in college had multiple Minnetonkas and I used to see people wearing the UGG slipper ones all the time. Now I think they’re coming back again in that prepster J.Crew kind of way.

Yes, knotted shirts. it is insane how addicted i’ve become to the trend.
Nearly every top seems to just look better knotted.
    Don’t know why.

And i love your orange blue mix. I’ll have to pair some navy with my creamsickle orange shorts now.

Now, your jcrew skirt looks like another super easy to DIY skirt… just in case we were ever getting around to that. haha.

We are so getting around to that (I am the most horrible person ever). I might give up on my pink fabric and find another color. This skirt probably would be an easy DIY, I’ve thought of it but I don’t have the skill to replicate it.
