Josie and the Dragon celebrates The Natori Company’s 35th anniversary with storytelling, art, and fashion. I noticed Josie Natori in the crowd looking as amazingly fabulous as always. How beautiful are the watercolors? I’d absolutely love to have them hanging on the walls.

Snapette and Piperlime Snaphunt in SoHo
Last weekend I went on a treasure hunt in SoHo to find a Piperlime gift card waiting for me at the green balloons! I was delighted to run into Sarah (co-founder of Snapette) at secret location #1 with plenty of gift cards still available. After snagging a green balloon, I headed down to the Piperlime store to meet Hope and we ended up braving the last day of the Alexander Wang sample sale. It was totally worth it for the final price cuts.

The Last Warm Day
Dear Caitlin,
Union Square is one of my favorite places in New York. I know not all New Yorkers feel that way, but there’s just something about the area that seems so alive. And DSW and Forever 21 are there, of course. I’m always up for a good game of chicken with New York traffic, and the small side streets east of Union Square Park aren’t nearly as busy as the others. Easier to take photos in the street.

Summer Photo Diary One
It’s definitely well into October, but surprise– I still have many photos from summer. Some adventures around New York and fun happenings like meeting up with blogger friends during fashion week follow. …

J.Jill Fall Preview
Photo c/o J.Jill
Thursday morning I stopped by the J.Jill preview before running uptown to work. Several women I know are huge fans of J.Jill, and you might remember one of my black sweaters as being J.Jill (recently worn in the rain and on the East River). I always associate J.Jill with quality basics and classic styles. …
Fashion Week Parties: Benefit
Nnenna and I had plans to attend the Benefit Cosmetics Primp and Party, so after Lucky FABB I dragged my very large and heavy gift bag down to SoHo on the train. Which I don’t recommend you do. We ended up having a tiny blogger meetup because we also saw Francisca and her sister Anne. I was sooo tired (gah! look at my eyes) after Lucky FABB (more about the conference this weekend), but had a blast at Benefit. …
Python + Brooklyn Bridge Before Sunset
Almost every week someone offers to take my photos, and I thank them but decline. I realized that this time around, the nice older couple that offered possibly had the look of serious photographers… in which case I really should have accepted. Oh well, maybe I’ll see them around sometime. It seemed like they were DUMBO natives out for an evening stroll.
I’ve also been practicing my “natural” poses, something I really think I could do better at. I look surprised more than anything. It could definitely be worse, but it’s easier to pose when you have an actual photographer as opposed to a lonely tripod and a park full of curious onlookers. …
Snapette Meet and Greet at Flying A
Last week, Snapette and The Bloggers’ Collective got together at Flying A, a SoHo boutique that carries a mix of contemporary and carefully curated vintage pieces. The decor inside is very cool and it’s definitely a shop I’ll visit again.
Snapette is an app that uses crowdsourced photos to provide a hyperlocal shopping experience to its users.
I snapped this clutch at Flying A with the app, and with Location Services turned on, I can see photos of products from other users at stores near my location. Pretty cool concept– something you’re looking for might be right across the street! …
The Building Without a Roof
Dear Christine,
I’m not sure what this building is called, but it’s empty and parts of it are usually blocked off. A lot of photoshoots happen inside anyway. I’d love to stand in one of those windows and get a photo, or at least center myself under one of the arches (which I completely failed to do in any of my photos). I kept losing track of where I was standing. The area around here is actually very busy, people walking or biking back and forth constantly. I’m sure all of them were wondering what the freak in the leopard dress was doing. …
