Dear Francy,
Now that it’s full summer I’ve been changing up the decor. My two new summer windowsill candles are Ilume via Anthropologie, which always has something interesting. The regular glass candles that most stores have don’t seem to look as nice in the window, and I like not begin able to see the burned wick.
I picked up a Vanilla & Fig from the Boulangerie collection, and a summery Citron Basil from the Nature Tin collection. The Citron Basil is my pick for favorite summer candle– it practically smells like a summery dessert.
For some reason, I am really attached to mason jars. I don’t know what it is, but every time I see a mason jar I think it’s too adorable for words. Luckily I’ve been able to restrain myself, but if I’m not careful I might end up with a room filled with stacks of them. Either that or everyone will start receiving mason jars as gifts!
These blue jars are a consignment store find. I’m particularly attached to their really retro silver lids, which are unpolished and a little bit rough looking. I remember my grandmother having the same lids. It’s difficult to find this kind of vintage jar these days.
Did you change up your decor at all this summer?
Alex
ahhh i’m so crazy for candles. love em!!
How do these fancy candles work? I forever pick them up at Anthro but never make the commitment. I have however, taken to cleaning out old candle jars and repurposing after they are done- they two are too pretty not to do that!!
You should try one! They’re the nicest candles I’ve ever had– burn beautifully and last a while. And once they’re gone I’m going to try to make my own candles with the jars (i.e. buy wax and hope it works, haha).
those are so cute!
Love the jars, and i love candles!!! Can’t live without them!

I was looking for some nice candles today! I think I’ll try out your advice here. Amazing post dear! <3
Sadly, I’m one of those people who just can’t warm up to mason jars. I dunno why. ANYWHO, I think they would make great terraniums!
You know, I can totally see mason jars just not being your style. You need something… brighter? More fun, maybe.
Love the mason jars for home decor – outdoor parties decor and for summer fruit mocktail glsses as well! Great windowsill picture! Hope you are having a wonderful day!

I don’t think I could have resisted turquoise mason jars either! And I’m not sure why, but they have become rather trendy lately. I guess they are just kind of fun and retro, and since few people are actually canning these days they have found tons of other functions.
I know! They’re kind of everywhere… it’s crazy!
Thanks for your kind words on my blog, they sweetened my day!
I didn’t actually change my decor, just added some plants. But this windowsill sure does look lovely!
Have a great weekend,
-Kati
Oh I’d love to have plants! I can’t really take care of them, though (I must not talk to them enough) so they’ll have to be air plants. Low maintenance!
