Doodling with A Beautiful Mess | Apps

Dear Christine,

If you didn’t already know, A Beautiful Mess recently released an iPhone app.

I’m possibly, maybe alittlebitobsessed. I haven’t had this much fun with an app since Instagram launched. The features remind me of those awesome instant photobooths in Japan with tons of stamps and features. Wish they would bring those stateside!

Have you tried the app? It’s only $.99 in the App Store, but I do confess to purchasing some of the in-app expansions. There’s plenty to do with the $.99, though– my top left ESB photo was done exclusively with features in the original download. However, that super cute moon and stars border is part of a paid in-app set.

The only major downside seems to be the lack of stability. The app’s crashed on me three times… right in the middle of editing a masterpiece. Sigh.

What do you think? Worth the $4-5 I’ve probably spent so far?

Alex

Oh man, I totally broke my blog at one point on Friday night… luckily I was able to fix it! But yeah… a reminder that I have a long way to go with development.

The app is super fun– I really like it!

I downloaded this last night and I think it’s a really cute app. It makes for really cute pictures esp in yours (loving 1, 2, and 5). But I agree paying for the add-ons is a little much. I def. paid for some add-ons and as I was doing it asked myself “Why am I doing this?” And continued to do so. Such a sucker for cute things. I hope they will add on “extras” that are free. I understand that they need to make money but they don’t need to charge for everything.

Yeah I definitely would have rather paid 2.99 or 4.99 initially and not had to buy all the different crap. But I’m having fun with it so I can’t complain too much! Maybe they’ll release some new freebies when (if?) there’s an update? That would be nice.
