Faux Lace

It snowed quite a bit this morning but by noon it already melted!  I think I prefer the ground white, especially when it’s cold!  That’s my (fairly) recent Rodarte for Target dress which is now sold out so I’m glad I didn’t wait to buy it.

I needed a way to dress this down a little for the office.  The office is very very casual so I really didn’t want to look like I was about to attend a cocktail party at 10 am.  I added the cardigan and wide belt and decided on my Arturo Chiang boots.  I actually bought them for the snow because they were on extreme clearance and have a waffle bottom that doesn’t slip.  So far so good!  I haven’t fallen yet.

The lace is actually just print, not lace over nude fabric.

Rodarte for Target dress, J. Crew cardigan, H&M black belt (again), H&M black leggings, Arturo Chiang boots, Coach sunglasses.

I Wear My Sunglasses at Night

To the office part two! The office is very casual, probably a bit too casual.  I think I’m constantly overdressed.

Coach sunglasses, Anthropologie sweater, Splendid tank top, Joe’s Jeans, Frye boots.

I was freezing in these pictures!  It got verrrry cold today and I took these at about 5pm.  I don’t know what happened.  When I left for work it was almost 40 degrees… and then the temperature dropped 10 degrees as the day went on.  It’s supposed to snow tomorrow.  Hmmmm what to wear.

To the Office

For some reason this outfit felt very vintage to me — I don’t know why? The lights on that palm tree are totally vintage too. So I put the antique filter on in iPhoto and I think it came out pretty well. Wrinkly skirt! Oh well, I sat in it most of the day.

Rain Rain Go Away

These photos have a bit of a soft focus to them again… it rained the entire day.  I always have trouble getting my camera to focus in the rain.

I went to see Up in the Air with my friend later at night.  It was good but the ending was a little random.  Almost everyone I know who’s seen it said it was horribly depressing, although I didn’t really think so.  We ate some movie theatre popcorn loaded with butter!  I love movie theatre popcorn but it is so unhealthy!  I gorge myself on it two or three times/year.

She Could Be a Farmer in Those Clothes

… or a lumberjack. That shirt is Just A Cheap Shirt, which I think is more popular with men but they do make women’s clothing as well. Women’s clothing that might as well be men’s because that shirt is cut verrrry weird. It’s supposed to be the women’s boyfriend shirt but it really just feels like a men’s shirt — tight across the bust but too big in the shouders and under the arms, and very very straight. Like a box. The sleeves also completely cover my hands. I really like the red plaid though, so I discovered that it looks much better with just one or two buttons done and one side of the collar turned under. I still feel like I should pin the back or something though.

I wore this to meet one of my BFFs from my sorority for pho. The restaurant is about 40 minutes from both of us but pho is just so good! It’s totally worth it. She took my picture in the parking lot at the Asian supermarket, where we bought more pho (instant), tea cakes, candy, and other unhealthy things imported from Asia.

zzzzzoooom!

Aaaaand Firefox crashed and I lost the entire post.  Mozilla needs to get it together because Firefox 3 has a horrible crash rate.  At least once per day for me and that’s an improvement.  It used to be four times/day.

Doing my best imitation of an airplane!  My friend once told me I looked like I should be flying in this dolman sleeve sweater.

Banana Republic has additional 40% off sale (lowest ticketed price)!!  So go go go!  I got a sweater and a silk shirt from under $40.

Aqua by Bloomingdales sweater (backwards as the front has a very deep (I’m talking Jennifer Lopez-at-the-Grammys deep) neckline ~~ American Apparel skirt ~~ Penneys stockings ~~ Arturo Chiang boots (still available at Piperlime!)

Later, out.

Dress is from Francesca’s Collections (don’t remember the designer) ~~ Penneys tights ~~ Forever21 bracelet ~~ Aldo ankle boots

Yes, I’m a Natural Blue

This is my natural hair texture.  Yes, it’s curly.  Or would that be wavy?  I don’t know.  Some of it legitimately curls and then some of it just waves.

People don’t see it too often.  Why?  I had my hair chemically straightened in mid-May 2008 when I studied abroad in Japan.   It’s now mostly grown out, except for one or two inches at the front, where my hair is longest.  But more importantly, curly = air dry = forever.  Straight = hairdryer = 3.5 minutes.

It Must Have Been the Sunlight… There Wasn’t Any

This is my best frame of the day.   I would rather take photos outside but the light… awful.  Beyond awful.  I took about 20 frames and then just gave up.  Oh well.  I’ll have to remix another day.  I think tomorrow it is supposed to be not cloudy, which would be nice.  The Northeast + winer = grey.  Grey everything, all the time.

J. Crew shirt, Anthropologie Scarf, J. Crew belt, Forever21 skirt ($9.50, still available!), two pairs of tights from Penneys (Ireland), Aldo ankle boots.

Leopardflower

Trench coat weather!  It was almost 50 degrees today I think — a total heat wave! :)

I really have to start taking pictures earlier in the day/before the sun sets around 5 pm.  The first photo was taken about 10 minutes after this one (long phone call) and is noticeably darker.
