A New Cardigan

October 17, 2011

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I pretty much don’t own any seasonally appropriate clothing for winter. I have like two actual knit sweaters.

So when I saw this J.Crew Jackie cardigan at Cure Thrift Shop I bought it right away ($16 vs $62 at J.Crew). For something different, I decided to tie the ends together… like I’ve done with everything else lately. Worked well over a high waisted skirt– better proportions for a petite.

J.Crew cardigan (thrifted, Cure Thrift Shop), ZARA shirt, Theory skirt (consignment, Roundabout, SoHo), MIA ankle boots (DSW.com), ancient falling apart Longchamp bag.

You’re spot-on with the proportions this year. That skirt is some serious cool, too. I didn’t used to like houndstooth, but now it’s calling to me! Maybe it’s the more muted colors.

I’ll be sure to start knotting all my cardigans now… when i get them out. someday. i haven’t switched out the closet yet. i dont know why, but i’m in such a fall denial this year.

got to love finding crew for cheap.
i mean, their prices don’t even make sense. even if i win the powerball tonight, i still don’t know if i could pay full price for their stuff.

There are very few things I will buy retail from J.Crew. Ebates usually has 4% back, sometimes 8% so that’s a bit of a discount. Otherwise I tend to wait for 25% off, etc. At least there’s flat rate shipping now :P
