Flowers for Fall

October 7, 2011

Sorry for going dark here since Monday. I feel like every electronic thing I own has broken or needed repairs lately. Just got a new battery for my Mac today, thankfully it’s still under warranty. I updated Aperture 3 (my image editing software) and it doesn’t work very well any more so my photos have been languishing on the hard drive. Also, if you follow me on Twitter you know that something’s up with my iPhone.

Is Mercury in retrograde right now? For serious, I don’t know what is going on.

Wearing my new-to-me Velvet wrap (swapped with Lydia), Free People dress, MIA ankle boots, Foley + Corinna bag, and ken + dana ring.

Something you don’t see on this blog often– a pencil skirt! I was spending a long (and particularly gloomy) weekend in the country and my stepmother gave me a ton of clothing. Free clothes! Exciting! So I decided I had to wear this suit right away. It’s Doncaster, which I’ve never heard of, but the fabric’s very nice. Wool/wool blend.

Wearing: J.Crew shirt, Doncaster suit, Banana Republic shoes, ken + dana necklace (sample), leopard scarf (gift a friend brought back from Paris!), Louis Vuitton bag.

When Lydia Came to Visit

I’m interrupting my usually chronological photos because Lydia’s are already up. And if I post them in order it’ll be next week and I’ll feel like an idiot. Lydia’s write up is much better, and you should look at some of the photos she captured with her wide angle lens!

(Stolen from Lydia.)

Last week Lydia came to New York! We did lots of fun and mostly non-touristy things (I put my foot down at Times Square with a tripod on a Friday night. Just. No.).

Lydia zeroed in on my manicure. I’m starting a new trend. Really.

We went to Central Park because Lydia had never been, and wonder of wonders: I managed not to get us lost. But we didn’t venture any farther uptown than Le Pain Quotidien. Otherwise getting lost would have been a very real possibility because I have no idea where any of those walkways go as soon as they’re past Le Pain.

Then we ventured downtown for some shopping, etc. and then we met Nnenna and ate lots of pho!
