Alexander Wang Dress and Studs at Lincoln Center

Dear Silvergirl,

I did not get photographed by any photographers, unless it was very stealthily. This is the full outfit from this post with all my blogger friends. I just keep on wearing this dress. Everyone has probably seen it about fifty times, so I try to keep it interesting. This season I modified it a little and gave it one sort-of sleeve, but it’s the same favorite Alexander Wang dress from Sun Showers, Waterfront Sunset, and Going South for the Winter. I wear it so much that it’s getting faded, so I guess I should get some of the dark Woolite detergent. …

Broadway is Dark Tonight

Dear Francy,

One minute Nnenna and I were dashing around Flatiron, giggling like mad over our Zara purchases– and the next it was practically the blue hour. At barely eight o’clock we stopped on the corner of Broadway to take a few photos.

What happened to the light? What happened to the whole summer? I didn’t even get to make a list of things to do and now it’s over already. I suppose fall all is the best season in New York anyway, but so much more seems to happen in the summer. Of course there’s Fashion Week in New York, but somehow that seems to take up the entire fall season, even though I know it’s really not true. …

Bloggers in Front of Brownstones

Dear Laura,

The majority of these houses are actually brick row homes, but Bloggers in Front of Brick Row Homes doesn’t sound quite as good as Bloggers in Front of Brownstones. Nnenna and Hope already wrote about our night of soirées, but I have a few additional photos from our evening. I looked everywhere for a photo of Hope’s pretty scarf, then I realized I took all those photos with her camera. You’ll just have to visit A Flattering Tale to see. …

The Building Without a Roof

Dear Christine,

I’m not sure what this building is called, but it’s empty and parts of it are usually blocked off. A lot of photoshoots happen inside anyway. I’d love to stand in one of those windows and get a photo, or at least center myself under one of the arches (which I completely failed to do in any of my photos). I kept losing track of where I was standing. The area around here is actually very busy, people walking or biking back and forth constantly. I’m sure all of them were wondering what the freak in the leopard dress was doing. …

Black and White Pattern Mixing

Dear Katha,

Sometimes I stop for photos even when it rains. If it’s raining, the park is generally empty and the few people there don’t care about the weird person with the camera (usually they’re fellow photogs with SLRs). I think the rain also gives a nice quality to photos. It makes them a little soft and turns all surfaces slightly reflective. Photos take on a different quality than those I snap on sunny days. …

Raspberry + Neon Pink in the Forest

Dear Nnenna,

Sometimes you just have to wear a relaxed blouse and four inch heels on your forest bathing expedition, right? And bug spray, definitely need bug spray.

Despite the swarms of mosquitoes, this is a nice photo location. Quiet, secluded, and with a tiny river on one side of the path. …
