Stripes, Pink, and Black

Dear Nnenna,

There were a few very very nice days over the weekend. Nice enough for just my faux-shearling jacket and no wool coat. I didn’t even feel cool when I took it off, although I’m positive I frightened the neighbors off again. The children are never scared, though. They just stare at me puzzledly.

I think I scared away everyone at the mall, too. Some people were peering at my skirt from around bookshelf corners in Barnes and Noble. I had a chai there, but really I wanted to see the Ann Taylor new arrivals. In particular a bright pink silk blouse that was already sold out in my size and not available online. I’ll have to keep looking.

I’m wearing my Simply Vera Vera Wang jacket, Ann Taylor striped shirt (is this thing navy or black? I still can’t tell), Banana Republic skirt ($10!), Stuart Weitzman Forsure pumps, LOFT belt, and Forever 21 necklace. And that’s my free bag again. It’s such a perfect size.

i am such a huge fan of bright colored pieces with black and stripes, and you pull it off effortesly, this looks so fab yet not over the top, it looks casual yet chic.

As someone who works for Ann Taylor, the top is white and navy blue. You can always tell by the colorcode, navy is 1220 and black 6600.

Hahah, I think you are just imagining that because you’ve been wearing so much black lately. No one stares at me when I wear crazy bright colors.

Or hey, maybe they do, and I just don’t notice anymore.

Still, that skirt was an amazing deal.
