Yesterday I attended the IFB Conference at Milk Studios. I was looking forward to hearing what the panelists had to say after hearing about how great IFB was in September. The conference was excellent for new bloggers just starting out, but as someone who’s been blogging on Tumblr since March 2008 and who even had a Xanga (yes, I’ll admit it), I found the amount of useful information limited.
So instead of a panel-by-panel recap, I put together fifteen quotes that I personally thought were the best of the day.
Hilarious photo of Shenneth and me. This was apparently our best of six– the early morning must have been getting to us.
On brand partnerships:

Make sure quality is not sacrificed. Post at a speed you’re comfortable with. Your readers appreciate consistency. – Connie Wang, Refinery29
Don’t post for the sake of posting. Take the time to edit yourself. Good high quality content is more important. -Nicolette Mason, Nicolette Mason
I also met Jill and Nicole (also known as Glamamom and MomTrends)!

And what Bryanboy does in the dressing room at Barneys (wouldn’t you?): hide and take a picture of this and tweet.

ohhh, firstly I love that you’ve gone for both color and print with your look for the conference, and that pencil skirt is a keeper.
second, i commend your for taking such excellent notes, definitely some things to consider.

I like this skirt but it has no kick pleat! So hard to walk in and it rides up so far when I sit down. I may try to have one sewn in.
I only took good notes for the panels I actually though were interesting, haha. Panel three basically got no love. Everyone around me was clearly bored with that one– texting or replying to emails the whole time, haha.

Love your approach to this recap! What you mentioned seems to be a common comment on IFB, that it’s more geared toward newbie bloggers. Still, I definitely picked up a few tips while following along on the livestream and there were several quotes that I wrote down too :) It seems like it was such a fun experience and I think I’d still like to go at least once!

Yeahhh maybe next time it might not be auch a primer for new bloggers? Although Lani said she thought the exact same thing when she went in September…
Jessie, Editor of Denimology says
Ooooh… that is a great idea. Make a blog post about topics for veteran fashion bloggers and make sure @_ifb:twitter gets a peek at it! :) Smart gals here!

That is a great idea for a post- thanks Jessie :)
