Going South for the Winter in Alexander Wang

December 24, 2011
Dear Lydia,

There’ve been quite a few days that were definitely warm enough for bare legs, but unfortunately now that heatwave has passed through and I’m in tights once again. After a quick stop in Washington earlier this week, I’m in North Carolina for the holidays.

I wanted to experiment with a looser silhouette with this dress, but I don’t like it as much as the other ways I’ve styled it in the past. If I had a longer sweater I think I would like it a lot more, but this incarnation is not one of my favorite ways to wear this dress (one, two, three, four, five, six).

I’m wearing my Francesca’s Collections cardigan, Alexander Wang dress, Assets by Sara Blakely tights, and Stuart Weitzman shoes. I wore Alex Wang on Christmas Eve last year, too. Maybe it’ll become a tradition.

Merry Christmas! I hope your holidays are merry and bright :)

Loving the red lip and the last picture, especially! Gorgeous, as usual. You definitely have a gothic-chic theme going on in this outfit post.

This definitely turned out more goth than I thought. When I saw the photos on the big screen I was like yikes,  probably scaring the neighbors away hahaha.

okay, where in NC are you???
I am in Charlotte, are you anywhere near?

I definitely would have told you if I was going to be anywhere near you! I’m in Raleigh, so no, not close at all :(

I would love to have bare legs, and more importantly, bare feet right now. I really need to go south for the winter.

That looks like such a gorgeous house, and the yard, oh my god. I’d probably never leave.

It can definitely be nice to get a reprieve from the chill! Today is soooo windy though, as bad as New York!

So the stonework you see in the first photo (and the background of the second and third) isn’t even someone’s yard. It’s standard on some of the corners in the development, but of course in this case it would be in front of the house that looks like a castle. And it’s the neighbors’ yard in the background, too.

Yay, my fave number makes an appearance again. It really does not get old. I think how much I love it every time I see it. A Wang sounds like a tradition for every holiday. Hope you had a festive one;)

that is officially my fav dress…I love it…and think I have said that before.  Also really loving that amazing cross you are wearing..love oversized unique pieces like that.
Hope you had a great holiday.

It’s a favorite of mine, too! Which you can probably tell by the number of times I wear it, haha. The cross is a piece from the company I intern for. Oops, forgot to list it on my outfit rundown.
