Christmas Eve in Pink

Dear Mia,

I hope you had a good holiday! Sorry I haven’t been around very much for the past month, I think I’ve had visitors or traveled every single week since Thanksgiving. The end of the year seemed unusually disorganized for me. I even forgot that I actually did take photos on Christmas Eve. I decided on my newish (from October in anticipation of the remainder of fall, but then Sandy happened and I didn’t have it for weeks and weeks) pink dress from Madewell. It’s a great color and the silk is nice, but the skirt is plagued by static electricity. Hopefully that won’t happen in the summer.

Madewell dress (similar in neutral) | I forget the brand black cardigan from Marshalls | Forever 21 belt | DV by Dolce Vita Jamison boots (extreme clearance at 6pm) | AMY O. Jewelry ring (similar) | Ippolita Wicked ring | t+j designs bracelet (c/o Lucky FABB gift bag | vintage necklace/Brooklyn Flea | Max the French Bulldog | Anthropologie dress and Stuart Weitzman boots on Becca

I also recruited my cousin and Max to be in my photos. As you can see, Max was very interested having his picture taken.

How do you like these photos? I got the Canon 40mm pancake and am very pleased with it. It’s really fantastic and has vastly exceeded my expectations– I think it’s almost as smooth as my 50mm 1.4.

Puppyyyyyy! Puppy in a tie, no less. So fancy! I have a couple of really staticky skirts that misbehave even with a slip underneath, so I feel your pain. What are we to do?

Like Christine said, I’m also very intrigued with the lens! I’ll have to look into one. How much will it set me back by?

By the way, you have the best taste in jewelry. Always.

The lens is a whopping $149 on Amazon. I know. I really am a fan. I like it more than the 28mm ultrasonic I just got (and which is likely getting exchanged). STM is a new type of lens for Canon that just came out last summer.
I’m also returning that L lens I got. I’m completely underwhelmed. It was only $700, which I thought was pretty cheap for an L, but I’m not satisfied with the image quality.

wow, that is a tiny lens! I still love my 50, though now i’m thinking i’d love it more if it were on a full frame camera. ahh ha ha ha.

that is a cute dress, and definitely pretty summery, though I love that you went bright for christmas eve! Can’t wait to see it in warmer weather, though.

Ughhhh I want a Mark II. I’m going to get one, I swear. Although by the time I’ve decided I have enough money for one I’ll probably be able to get the Mark III because the Mark IV will be out. Ha!
