And It Was All Yellow

I wore this out to dinner with my cousin to one of those farm-to-table restaurants. I had the best foie gras ever (including France) and my Bloody Mary-ish martini was so good. This dress was probably a poor choice for dinner– it’s not forgiving through the waist and I thought I was going to have to roll out of the restaurant after dinner. I used my turtle pin to hold the sash in place because it looks better with only one knot, although it always comes undone then.

My favorite way to carry a clutch is with the chain still attached. I just drape it over the top and carry as usual. I like the way the chain looks and I can still hang the bag on a chair at dinner instead of searching for place to put it or sticking it on the chair against my back.

1. Since you began blogging do you notice a change in the types of things you gravitate towards while shopping?
Yes!  I’ve been looking at far more skirts and dresses, although I’m not sure if that’s because of blogging or leaving college and developing a more grown up style…

2. Do you find, as a fashion blogger, that you dress differently from your family and friends? Do they comment on that?
I most definitely dress differently than family and friends, and yes they do comment on it. I’m always more formally dressed (and likely to show up in a dress). I do see family and friends of the family most on holidays though, when I feel as if many people dress a little bit more formally.

3. What’s the weirdest fashion that you secretly like even if you aren’t bold enough to wear it?
I secretly like…. cape dresses! But yes, I am not bold enough to wear them. I have really broad shoulders and every time I try a cape dress on I feel like a crazed fashionable superhero. This Alex Wang is ridiculously stunning in person and I have no excuse for walking away from it (other than I felt like a crazed fashionable superhero at the time):

4. Looking at current trends – what would you like to try but need to build up the courage to do?
Okay. So. I would really like to have a 70s-inspired wide leg jumpsuit that’s super flowy and an awesome color. With a halter. But as much as I will wear just about anything, I do not know how I feel about wearing a jumpsuit. Pretty much my ideal jumpsuit (M Missoni, Net-a-Porter) is below, expect maybe I’d like it in a vibrant color:

5. Toot someone’s horn – what fashion blogger out there inspires you with her bold fashion choices?
One of my favorite fashion bloggers right now is Barbro Andersen. She doesn’t follow style rules, likes to play with sizing, and I’m pretty sure I’ve never not liked anything she ever wears.
